Getting Out Of The House

It is now officially summer, much welcomed after a very wet spring. It has rained just about every day for the last two months. On some days it was just scattered sprinkles and on others it has rained and/or poured all day.

 In spite of this kind of gloomy weather I have managed to get out of the house for some excursions around my home town - really a village - of Gambier, Ohio. My two aides have taken me around the village on some short trips to the nearby bike/hike trail, The Kokosing Gap Trail, to the Gambier branch of the Public library of Mount Vernon and Knox County and up into the village itself, which is just up the hill from me. 

My life-long friend Mike McClain has taken me to the Memorial Day parade in mount Vernon and a quick ride around the rural Gambier area. I also used the county taxi service, which has several vans with wheel chair lifts, to the Mount Vernon Farmer's Market a couple of weeks ago. That was the best one because I was able to see a few people I knew and had not seen in several years.
